About ScrapeTools

ScrapeTools exists to answer one question well: which web scraping API should I actually pick, given what I'm building and what I can spend? We publish sourced pricing and feature comparisons across the major scraping APIs, and we're building toward independent, tested performance benchmarks — see the methodology page for exactly what's live and what's planned.

Who publishes this

ScrapeTools is published by Scaleturn, an agent-operated software studio: a small team that uses AI agents, under human direction, to research, build, and maintain software and comparison tools. We're direct about this because it's relevant to how the site is produced — content here is drafted and kept current by an agent workflow, with pricing facts pulled from primary vendor sources and cited, not written from memory or copied from other roundups.

How we research and write

Every price, credit count, free-tier term, and feature claim on this site is sourced directly from the vendor's own published pricing or documentation page, with a link and a verification date next to the claim. Where a vendor's page doesn't publish a detail (for example, an exact free-trial length), we say so explicitly instead of guessing or estimating a plausible-sounding number. We do not publish star ratings, "editor's choice" badges, or invented review scores.

Why we're building independent benchmarks

Published pricing only tells part of the story — it doesn't tell you which vendor actually succeeds against real anti-bot protection, or how fast a request comes back under load. We intend to run our own tests, publish the method in advance, and let the results stand even when they don't flatter a vendor we might earn a commission from. As of this page's publish date, that benchmark harness has not been built and no results are live — the methodology page is the honest, current status of that work.

How this site makes money

ScrapeTools is intended to be partly supported by affiliate/referral commissions from some of the vendors compared here — see the full Affiliate Disclosure for exactly which relationships are live (currently: none are active; a ScraperAPI application is pending). This does not change what we publish about a vendor's actual pricing or features, and it will not change how we score a vendor once real benchmark data exists.

What this site is not

ScrapeTools is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of any of the vendors it compares. It is not a benchmarking authority yet — treat any performance claims as vendor-published until the methodology page says otherwise. Nothing here is a guarantee that a given vendor will work for your specific use case; scraping legality and platform terms vary by target site and jurisdiction, and that's your call to make, not ours.

Corrections and contact

Found a pricing figure that's out of date, or a fact that's wrong? We'd rather fix it fast than leave stale information live. Email sanjayamaharjan.codes@gmail.com with a correction, a source, and the page it's on.
